ANGELA NORTLEY, President
I'm Angela Nortley, President of the Blue Water Spinone Association. I am married to Tom and have 2 human children, Marc 8 years old and Grace 7 years old. and 3 Fur Kids: Ariel 6- orange and white Spinone; Cooper 4-orange and white Spinone and Maggie 6-brown terrier/hound mix I have lived in Michigan all my life. and have had hunting dogs since I was 11 starting with a Springer Spaniel and then a Griffon. I work for the University of Michigan in Risk Management. I was a member of SCOA for a short time as I want to support the breed but didn't see the club doing that. I tried my hand at conformation with Ariel, but somehow I just couldn't get the hang of it. But that's okay, I had a great time and made a lot of friends in the breed. I learned a tremdous amount about Spinone. I saw a lot of good, bad and ugly(could our Spins EVER be ugly?). My mother has always called them faces only a mother could love. Cooper and Ariel really enjoy the field work, Ariel would rather stay close to me though. Ariel we got as a puppy. She was bred by my father, Paul Landini and is out of Morgheno Francesca of Risky Business and Ch. Morghengo Alfredo. We rescued Cooper. He was bred out of Quattro Zampe Kennels. Teri Turner did a wonderful job with breeding him. We've had him since he was 18 months old; he's such a good boy. Maggie, our non-Spin is known around our house as a 'Harley dog' Tom and I ride a Ultra Classic Harley and several vets who have seen her have each given us a different set of mixes of what she could be. Personally I think she's has a cat's soul that's stuck in a dogs body. I just love this Spinone breed. There's nothing they do that doesn't surprise me. whether it be on a walk around our neighborhood or out in the field. I hope you come join us and meet me personally at one of our get togethers. Warmest Regards, Angie, Tom & kids

PATTI JOHNSON, Board Member
I am Patti Johnson from Leo, Indiana. We are so thrilled to be part of this wonderful and very special breed. I participate in AKC conformation events and my husband, Phil, is the hunter in the family. Right now we have our 3rd litter of Spinone puppies that we're enjoying very much. We got our first Spinone almost 6 years ago and our family has grown since then. We also have a 10 year old rescue Spinone who we feel blessed to share our lives with. This is a great group of people who know the breed and are willing to share what they know. I'm looking forward to lots of good times ahead

We currently have Aldo, a brown roan. He is one of the best dogs we have ever had. He was our replacement for our late Caesar who was also a great dog. We enjoy the Spin attitude even though it can get frustrating at times. It is always enjoyable to see Aldo sprawled out on the couch with his paws up in the air taking a nap where he isn't suppose to. It is fun to see him dig holes in mole tunnels where the moles are no longer at!. He is very cute at being impish and knowing we are going to laugh as opposed to being annoyed. He knows how to tease the other dogs by beating them on the heads with his big paws and then taking off as if he has done nothing. All these qualities are what make him so endearing..... We are very pleased with his loyality and his interest in everything we do. He always checks in and makes sure he knows where we are. He protects our property but will let the golden check things out first. He walks around with stuffed animals in his mouth all the time which negates the protection part. Aldo does an excellent job of trainning his retired teacher/mother and his high school assistant principal/father of giving him all the attention he wants. His obedience training is coming along and he will be ready for trials sometime this fall, if he wants to! Gardening is not as high a priority to Aldo as it is to his parents and he makes sure they understand the time they spend working on their grounds can be undone in minutes. His ability to carry potted plants around and place them where he wants is second to none. Aldo has been a great part of this family for the past 3 years and we hope he has many more.

We live in Canada with our dog Aldo. Aldo is our first Spinone, he will be 2 years old next November. Steve & I love him dearly, as he keeps us laughing and keeps us on our toes! He has a sweet nature and loads of character. We hope to have another Spinone in the next year or so. Currently, I show Aldo in the USA, since there are not any Spinoni competing in our area; as well we are working towards our CD Obedience title. We would like to start hunt training with Aldo in the fall as we did take part in a Spinone Hunting Clinic in Washington recently which really inspired us (and Aldo)!

Janice Robinson
St. Clair Shores, Michigan
Work: Camp Bow Wow St. Clair Shores
Obsession: My job- making sure that dogs have fun all day in a clean and safe environment, Dog training, helping rescues, marketing and research,
Genealogy, art, poetry, music, reading, and long walks on the sidewalk with Grissom.
My dog: I got Grissom at the end of September 07 and fell immediately in love. His picture has been passed around on the Internet more than my children's. Sometimes as he is walking by I just have to grab him and kiss him up a storm, he's used to it now. I also have a 11 year old Chow/Corgi mix "Bailey" who is now blind. She took to Grissom right away and even stands under him to wait to go outside or when it's raining. I also have many cats who fill my life with love and Events throughout the day. There is always something going on in my home.
My Children: I have 3, one of each kind- hee hee. Two boys and a girl. The boys are all grown up and live in Milan and Jackson. My daughter still lives with me some of the time. I plan on filing for custody of her from her boyfriend who seems to occupy most of her time. She plans on moving out without telling me so I won't feel bad, she's just going to leave most of her stuff here and show up once in a while. Sneaky girl, I think she's already done it and I haven't caught on. She is going to College to work on animal rehabilitation.
My life revolves around dogs and their well being. I'm presently working with Meals on Wheels to collect dog food for the people who have pets on the program.
